Honoring the legacy of the nation’s very first majority Negro baseball league.
The word “Negro”, whether said out loud or written, might illicit discomfort in the hearer. It will go down in history certainly as one of the most cringeworthy words in the English lexicon, next to its close relative which I’ll refrain from using. Nevertheless, the word stands as an emblem of a time in history in which African-Americans struggled voraciously for freedom of equality.
